ARW Blogging Assignment 2

     My revised thesis statement for Essay 1 is "The Japanese government has to create and implement specific public policies that encourage and enable families to have more babies to improve and maintain the economy for the future", and the three main supporting ideas for this thesis are as follows. The first supporting point for my thesis is that the government has to give financial support to parents. Since many people think child rearing takes a lot of money, they don't try to have babies. I think the government should give child allowence to parents or implement a tax reduction. The second supporting point is that they have to provide facilities where children are taken care of. Since the number of dual-income families is increasing, they have to ask someone to look after their babies or children. Now, it's getting difficult to find a day carecenter, the government has to build facilities where children are taken care of. The third supporting point is that they have to chage the current trend of seeing childcare leave. Many fathers tend not to take it because of the pressure from their companies or the idea that mothers should take care of children. The government needs to get rid of  this trend from Japanese society so that parents can bring up their children with less stress.

CA blogging assignment 1

     My topic for essay 1 in ARW is " The problem of  greater participation of women in public affairs in Japan caused by the idea of gender free." The reason I chose this topic is that now I'm interested in gender problems in Japan because as summer reading I read "Things fall apart" whose story includes gender problems. I feel women's social status has changed better recently in japan because I know many women working for a company. Considering from a gender aspect, it seems good because that means there is going to be  little social difference between men and women. However, I also think it's not good because I believe women as mothers are necessary to improve the Japanese economy. Althogh there are many ways to improve Japan's economy,  the economy will not maintain in the future without a new generation. Now, the birthrate is low in Japan. As a reason for it, it's considered that women tend not to have babies because they do not have enough money and time for babies, or they prefer to work. Therefore, Japanese have to think how to devise a strategy for breaking out of today's situation. My thesis is going to be like " The government has to make some new plans for women so that they will be able to have babies to improve and maintain the eonomy for the future" or " There is a problem of greater participation of women in public affairs in Japan caused by the idea of gender free."
